Abhyudaya, a project of Keshav Kripa Samvardhana Samiti (R) launched the pilot project on STEM based Teachers’ Training & Outreach Program on Nov. 21st, 2020 at their Jnanagiri office. Repco Home Finance Limited has extended their support to this initiative.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) based Training is a global effort to empower students and adults to create, innovate, tinker and make their ideas into reality. As part of CSR initiative, Repco Home Finance has supported Abhyudaya in their pilot project to implement STEM education in a Government school of rural part of Karnataka by investing in STEM kit for teacher training programs designed to strengthen the faculty. Teachers can adopt a new innovative method of teaching to students, practically with help of three dimensional scaled down working models called as STEM Kits.

The event was graced by Repco Home Finance Seniors – Smt. Anita Srinivas, the CSR Advisor connecting remotely via Google meet and Sri. Sanjay Patil, the Branch Manager and Sri. Anand with their physical presence. Addressing the Abhyudaya team and students, they emphasized the importance in supporting STEM education for reducing school dropout rates in rural areas. Also, this help to improve the education of students from socially and economically weaker section.

Sri. Sanjay Patil, branch Manager, Banashankari branch has handed over a cheque of Rs. 200,000 to Abhyudaya executive team.

Unlike traditional education, STEM method helps learning and understand concepts of Mathematics and Science with ease. It helps in Knowledge retention and imagination. This project will also help in identifying and nurturing young innovators as well as remove the fear for Mathematics and Science and help Children to learn concepts through self-discovery. There are thousands of STEM Kits each to experimentally understand several concepts linked to science and maths syllabus taught in schools. Activity based learning helps to improve attendance in Government school as well as reducing dropout rate. This project helps in achieving United Nations SDG mission of Quality Education.
