Coinciding with 20 years of Abhyudaya and 60 years of Keshava Kripa Samvardhana Samiti (KKSS), this year’s annual volunteers meet was held at Janaseva Vidya Kendra, Channenahalli on 13-14 April 2024.
The event was kick-started through Desi games for all the participants. After refreshments, Shri Nataraj, Senior full-time volunteer gave an overview of the various projects being run at Janaseva Vidya Kendra.
Shri Thippeswamy, President, KKSS took an interactive session on social responsibilities and encouraged all the 200+ volunteers (from across Karnataka) to take pride in giving back to society. After dinner, there was an informal session where the participants watched the “Border” movie and strengthened the idea of National Integration.
The next day started with Yoga and Mediation during the early morning session. Shri Balakrishna Kini, Senior volunteer, Gram Vikas addressed the gathering to highlight the importance of learnings from nature in our daily life.
Shri Ganapathi Hegde, Secretary, KKSS described the various Sewa activities across India. Shri Lakshminarayana, Chief Functionary and Prof. Vidyashankar, Advisory Board Member took the audience through Abhyudaya’s journey over the past 20 years.
Shri Venkatesh Murthy, Founder, YFS motivated the volunteers to continue long term service by focusing on the positive changes they are bringing in the underprivileged communities.
During the post-lunch session, participants were split into 4 teams where senior volunteers engaged them in discussions about “Civic Responsibilities” at home, on the road, at the school/college/workplace etc.
Some of the beneficiaries shared their valuable experience during the journey with Abhyudaya.
They have grown to become volunteers/role models and many of them are pursuing PG and Professional courses in their chosen domains.
During the valedictory function, some of the long-term volunteers were honored with mementos.
