“Aarohanam – Empowering Dreams, Celebrating Cultures” was a one-day cultural celebration organized for students of our Village Free Learning Centres (FLCs) in the Marayoor cluster of Kerala. This heartfelt event brought together more than 320 participants, including over 225 children, parents, teachers, and community leaders from 20 FLCs. It was a joyous occasion where rural children, many from tribal and economically backward communities, were given a platform to express their creativity, confidence, and cultural richness.

The event was held at Sree Saraswathy Vidya Mandiram, Marayoor, and began with an inspiring group Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) performance by all students, reflecting their unity and enthusiasm.

The event showcased a diverse range of competitions, including Yoga, Group Dance, Art, Music Shloka reciting and Quiz. Winners were awarded prizes, and every participant received a return gift.

Through Aarohanam, children who often have little exposure to such public platforms found a space to shine and discover their potential. It strengthened their self-confidence, connected them with their roots, and allowed communities to celebrate their children’s achievements together.

Team Abhyudaya acknowledges the volunteering hours contributed by Wells-Fargo, IDRF resources, and the support from local community leaders/parents.
