Abhyudaya has conducted it’s Annual Mega Event, Aarohana on Sunday, 23rd December 2018 at Ramakrishna Samagraha Shikshana Kendra, Gottigere, Bengaluru.

This event was successfully completed with participation of 2000+ students from economically weaker background. They got s stage to unfold their tremendous talents with various scientific and cultural competitions. The program had competitions in Essay writing, Drawing, Singing, Skit, Science Experiment/models and Quiz.

Over 250 prizes were distributed to the students, Noted industrialists Shri Sadananda, Shri Kailash Poddar, Shri Shivkumar and Shri Manjunath presided over the program.

For Essay writing competition, the theme identified for Primary School students was on

  • Water Conservation,
  • Pollution Control,
  • Traffic Rules and
  • Water Conservation,

For High School students, the theme was on

  • Pollution Control,
  • Traffic Rules,
  • Alcohol and Drug Abuse.

From Primary school section, Vikas B from JVP School won the First prize and from High school section, first prize went to Bindushree from YAS High School.

For Drawing Competition, the theme identified for Primary School and High School students was on

  • Nature,
  • Farming,
  • Culture and
  • Solar system

From Primary School section, Chandrika from Wilson Garden Abhayashrama won the First Prize and Lalitesh from Weavers Colony won the Second Prize,
For High school section, Chetan UN from Gottigere Government School won the First prize.

For Drama (skit) competition, the theme selected were

  • Water Conservation,
  • Pollution Control and
  • Traffic Rules and Awareness

Primary and High school students were combined to form a team. Few children from Bilekahalli made a mime on traffic rules which was excellent and won the prize. The Drama on Drunken Driving by Veerabhadra Nagara children was very touchy, children showed how reckless driving takes away lives and pushed people to a very sad state. Children from Abhayashrama, Wilson garden also participated in the drama, they showed how plastic can affect the health of cows. Two girls wore the mask of a cow instead of costly costumes to represent a cow. Mime on water conservation was very informative though mime does not have anyone talking it’s a silent play. Children who performed mime had painted their faces.

For Singing competition, the themes selected was

  • Patriotic Song in Kannada, Hindi and Sanskrit

Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Nandita, Bhagyashree and Sukanya from Thurahalli Government school students won the group songs in Primary school category.

Chandana, Pooja, Nikita, Preethi Kumari and Bhagyashree from Government High School, Bommasandra students won the prize in High School section.

Science Experiment and Modelling was another attraction.

The theme of models was

  • Primary School section – make Musical Instruments
  • High School section – model related to Astronomy

The prize went to Ambika, Shrana, Abhishek, Shivappa and Anitha. Government School, Yadalnagara student had made a guitar from board which was resembling a real guitar, the model even was perfect in terms of the dimension. Children from Madiwala Free Learning Centre had made a model of Maracas a type of percussion instrument and also explained the physics of sound generation. A 8th standard student from Harinagara Government School, Naveen want to be a scientist has made a very good model of Solar System.

For Quiz competition, it was conducted by Shri Kuldeep Somaiiyaji. The first prize went to Sheshagiri, Amrutha, Abhay, Harish and Darshan from Hongansandra. A total 7 teams with total 35 participants were shortlisted from earlier 1600 children for today’s quiz competition.

Shri V Nagaraj ex-LIC Officer and Mythic Society Honorary Secretary, Shri Narahari Rao from Suprajit Industry, Shri Narendra from Ramakrishna Samagra Kendra inaugurated the program in the morning.

A Memento consisting of books, pen, pencils, rubber and sharper was given for all 2000 participants to make the event memorable, encourage their participation without to disappointing anyone not winning any prize.

Around 40 buses was arranged to bring in these 2000 students from different area like Jigani, Anekal, Bommasandra, Tataguni, Anjanapura, Sarakki, Weavers Colony, Gottigere, Bilekahalli, Thurahalli, Chunchaghatta and Madiwala. They came early as 7:00 AM, with the additional care taken to arrange morning breakfast, lunch and evening snacks.

For first time few students from Dayananda Sagar college of Journalism participated as volunteers in Quiz, Drama competitions. Prof. Renuka Phadnis heading this team, they were impressed by the scale of the event
